Sometimes I wish people knew how hard it is to be someone who's not blessed with the ability to braid or cornrow . It's disheartening, really, although it's something I can usually deal with since, when I choose to wear my hair in protective styles , I'm normally able to pay for someone else to do it. But every now and again, when I'm crunched for time or money, this issue finds a way to re-present itself. Like right now, with most people staying home as much as possible, it seems like a convenient opportunity to wear a protective style - but unfortunately, most salons are closed due to social distancing measures. Luckily for me (and anyone else who somehow didn't get the braid gene), there are tons of tutorials and video how-tos on YouTube that give people step-by-step instructions on how to braid and cornrow your own hair.
