12 Nostalgic Red Carpet Outfits We Want to Wear After Watching Tiger King

Image
Two things that have been on my mind since finishing Netflix's Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness . Along with not being able to stop saying "Hey, all you cool cats and kittens," I haven't been able to get Carole Baskin's closet out of my head. If you need a refresher, she showed off her wardrobe on the true-crime docuseries and it only consists of what she likes to call "cat prints." Even animal advocate's luggage came in these wild prints! Talk about being committed to a trend. After seeing her multiple animal-print ensembles throughout the show, I couldn't help but feel like her entire wardrobe felt like it was right out of the early '00s. It reminded me of seeing celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Lindsay Lohan walking the red carpet back in the day wearing cheetah- and leopard-print outfits designed by Roberto Cavalli. (He was notorious for using these wild prints in a lot of his designs!) While it seems like many have found a n

11 Friends Apartment Outfits I Wish I Was Wearing Right Now

Image
I don't know about you, but I am always watching Friends reruns, and pretty much immediately after we all started officially sheltering in place , I knew I had to rewatch every season. It didn't take long before I was propped up in bed, ice cream pint in hand, transfixed on one of Rachel's baseball tees. The same thing happened again when I saw Chandler in his waffle henley . I thought to myself, "This is all the stuff I want to be wearing right now!" Yep, somehow, none of my own sweat sets could compare to the screen style on Friends . It's true - Ross, Chandler, Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, and Joey each stuck to their own signature casual aesthetic while lounging in the apartment, but they all owned pieces that were like, way stylish for athleisure-wear in the '90s. I always knew I was into how Rachel dressed in her miniskirts, tights, and boots, and that I loved the way Monica wore mom jeans , so wasn't it obvious that the best place to seek work-

Don't Want to Take Out Your Hair Extensions? Here's How to Maintain Them at Home

Image
Just because you can't get to a salon right now, doesn't mean that you have to take out your hair extensions on your own. Removing extensions isn't exactly hard, but it's often something that - like hair color or getting a trim - people would rather leave to the pros. Since making a salon appointment isn't an option right now, though, there are ways you can extend the life of your hair extensions until you can get to your hairstylist. Read ahead to for a few maintenance tips from Shelly Aguirre , hairstylist at Maxine Salon in Chicago. Tip #1: Wash Your Hair Less Often Maybe you've already been doing this, considering the circumstances, but this is a good reason to skip the shampoo. According to Aguirre, washing your hair less helps to keep the bonds of your extensions attached. If your scalp feels oily or has product buildup, consider using a dry shampoo instead. Tip #2: Don't Pick at Your Extensions Try to keep your hands out of your hair as muc

Ashley Graham's Candid Critique of Labels Further Proves Why She Defies Them Entirely

Image
How do you categorize someone who has managed to forever shape their industry in the span of a decade? Perhaps you don't. In a candid conversation for Naomi Campbell's newly launched YouTube channel, Being Naomi , Ashley Graham (who is a new mom !) spoke about the many labels that have been thrust upon her by model agencies and publications, whether it be "plus-size" or "that hourglass chick," Ashley joked. "It is interesting, because we are models, we are constantly categorized, and I think it helps clients book us better when we are categorized," Ashley told Naomi. "When I first started modeling at 12 years old, I had no idea what the word plus-size even meant. It was just an automatic label that somebody - an agency - had given me." Celebrity Hairstylist Jen Atkin's Ouai Shampoos and Conditioners Got a Major Upgrade

Image
In an attempt to stay positive, I'm looking at being in lockdown as an opportunity for those of us who need it to give our hair a much-needed break. I'm not worried about getting it cut , but rather leaving it the heck alone and not touching a hot tool . I've convinced my mom to use the time to go through the seriously awkward stages of growing out a 20-year-old pixie cut. I've told friends to spend the day with their hair covered in a nourishing treatment mask to treat fried ends. Well, celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin has some good news for any of us looking to pamper our hair and provide it with some much-needed TLC right now: she's completely redone her Daily Care range of shampoos and conditioners. And they promise to do wonders for your hair. "We'd been doing a lot of research since we first launched the range four years ago, and we found that it felt really confusing when you go to buy shampoo and conditioner because everyone has multiple needs to

I've Always Been a Silk-Pillowcase Skeptic, but Here's Why I Finally Converted

Image
Image Source: Night I love my linen sheets - like, a lot. I would shout my devotion from the rooftops if that was socially acceptable. So the idea of switching to a silk pillowcase always seemed a little pointless to me. I've always thought the hype of the silk pillow was a bit overblown; could a change in fabric really make that much of a difference to the overnight care of my skin and hair? However, seeing as I have a lot more time on my hands to do some experimenting (aka sleeping), I figured, why not see if all the fuss is warranted? I ordered a Night Clean Silk Pillowcase ($110) and got to snoozin'. The silk-pillowcase devotees claim sleeping on silk keeps your hair from breaking , frizzing, and crimping as you move around in your sleep and won't pull on your skin in a way that causes wrinkles and pillow marks. I chose the Night pillowcase in particular because it's made from clean (meaning untreated), all-natural silk fibers - it's naturally hypoal

Meet the Badass Woman Who Designed Meghan Markle's Wedding Dress

Image
Image Source: Getty / Dominic Lipinski The name Clare Waight Keller might not have been familiar a few years ago, but the royal wedding changed that. Clare was the artistic director of Givenchy and the woman responsible for Meghan Markle's custom Givenchy wedding dress - a moment she calls "the most memorable" of her career . On April 10, 2020, it was announced that after three years at the helm of the brand, Clare would be stepping down . Here are five things you need to know about Clare and why you won't be forgetting her name any time soon. She was the first-ever female artistic director of Givenchy. It took 66 years for a woman to take the helm of the historic luxury French fashion house, which was founded in 1952. But on May 2, 2018, Clare was announced as the artistic director - and 17 days later, Meghan would wear her custom Givenchy design down the aisle for all the world to see. She worked on Meghan's wedding dress secretly for five months. That
