Leggings ARE Pants - Here's How to Style Them

Image
Lately, I've been admiring all the great leggings outfits on Instagram. People seem to be genuinely excited to style outfits around them and sharing their looks proactively. I always find that some of my style icons who veer on the sportier side will, every so often, throw up a sports-bra mirror selfie or a quick snap after a yoga workout, but rarely are we thrilled to construct adorable looks with a tie-dye legging set. Sheltering in place has seemed to change that, and I, for one, am glad for it. Even though there's definitely still a strong appeal behind the sweat-chic look - from white joggers to the high-waisted variation - leggings have always been a tried-and-true athleisure staple, and they're great for a quick walk around the block, too. Some of our favorite leggings, from the likes of Everlane, H&M, and, of course, Kim Kardashian's newly iconic Skims label , are also made with cute little details that elevate an outfit instantly. I frankly can'

Dua Lipa Has Been Building Her Collection of Tiny Tattoos Since 2015

Dua Lipa has been passing the time at home in London by dyeing her hair bubblegum pink with the help of Anwar Hadid and posting throwback photos on Instagram. Aside from serving up major DIY hair-transformation inspo, she's also inadvertently giving us ideas for our next tattoo appointment. It's hard not to when she's like a living, walking ad for tiny, meaningful tattoos . From phrases and quotes to little designs that are so discreet, you almost miss them, the singer has quite the assortment of tattoos at just 24 years old. I Have Worn the Same $6 Liquid Eyeliner For 10 Years, and It Gets Me So Many Compliments

Image
I'm a girl who likes to wear a sharp, inky-black cat eye on the regular. There's something about it that makes me feel both powerful and glamorous, so I have made it my go-to look since my teenage years. Time after time, friends, coworkers, and strangers have asked me the same question: "What eyeliner do you use?" There's nothing that brings me more joy than smugly telling them it's a $6 pick from the drugstore. Yes, I have been religiously swiping Wet n Wild MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner ($6) on my lids for 10 years now, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. Before you become skeptical, know that I have tried my fair share of liquid liners. I am always curious to see if any high-end or drugstore brands can match the quality of my Wet n Wild pick, but they never do. MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner comes in a small tube with a screw-top handle. The applicator, a flexible spongy brush, is easy to maneuver as I glide it across my skin. The harder you press, th

Tom Brady Layers Socks and Slides in Throwback Video to Summon Rob Gronkowksi to Tampa Bay

Image
Tom Brady welcomed his former teammate to his new team yesterday in a humorous way. The new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback shared on Instagram an “Anchorman”-inspired video he originally posted in 2016, using a conch shell to summon his former New England Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski to the Sunshine State. As Brady stands outside in a ball cap, sweater, sweatpants, he covered his feet by slipping a set of plain white socks into black-and-white Under Armour slides, which are now on sale at Belk.com for $27, instead of the original asking price of $35. (Brady became a brand ambassador for Under Armour in 2010.) Heeding the call, Gronkowski then comes running out of the woods in a white V-neck T-shirt, shorts layered over black leggings and white Nike sneakers. The tight end, who retired from football in spring 2019, runs to Brady and, with his chest heaving, says, “A little tired, but Gronk reporting.” View this post on Instagram Time to run

I Did My Own Box Braids For the First Time Despite Barely Knowing How to Braid

Image
I get frustrated every time I think about the fact that I'm a Black girl who can't braid . To clarify, I can easily complete a simple, three-strand braid, but my attempts to do anything more complex than that - cornrows, french braids , fishtails - always prove to be a joke. I know I'm not alone in this, and it's tough when you're someone who frequently wears protective styles , but it's even tougher at a time like this when hairstylists aren't so easily accessible. It was for this reason that I decided out of sheer desperation that I'd try my hand at doing my own box braids - and you can imagine my surprise when I actually didn't hate the results. I can't think of a more perfect style to wear than braids (or any protective style, really) when making an appointment with a hairdresser is close to impossible. Protective styles give you the option to tuck away your ends and lay off your hair for at least a few weeks at a time so you don't hav
