View this post on Instagram A post shared by MAKEUP MUSEUM (@makeupmuseumofficial) on May 21, 2020 at 7:09am PDT More than 25 years after her death, former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis continues to live on as a beauty icon . Her minimalistic makeup style and love for fiery red lipstick continues to inspire people's beauty looks everyday, and the Makeup Museum has finally blessed us all with her exact skin-care routine from 1963. In an Instagram post on Thursday, the New York City museum unveiled a document outlining Kennedy's full and detailed skin-care consultation notes written up by Hungarian dermatologist Erno Laszlo. The notes, dated May 1, 1963, instructed Kennedy to not use more than the prescribed amount of oils and creams on her skin to prevent the return of bumps, pimples, and blackheads from when the temperature is above 70 degrees through to the end of September. To avoid varicose veins, Kennedy's doct

I Just Found the Perfect Summer Sandals, and They Were Only $13 on Sale

Image
The other day, I glanced down at my feet. Not only were they in dire need of a fresh pedicure, but they were enveloped in - yet again - a pair of cozy slippers for the umpteenth day in a row. While I love cozy clothing , in that moment, I felt like I wanted a fresh pair of stylish sandals. There are so many shoe trends to consider right now - from block heels to thong sandals - but I decided to hunt down one of my favorite styles: an easy-to-wear gladiator sandal; and I found it at Old Navy. The Faux-Suede Lace-Up Gladiator Sandals ($13, originally $35) comes in five earthy shades, and unlike other gladiators I've owned, they're simple to both slip on and tie. The footbed is soft, it's simple to loosen or tighten the laces, and the laces even have small delicate tassels on the ends so the shoe itself doesn't feel overly trendy. The minute I slipped them on, I took them for a walk and felt ready for summer. Source: https://ift.tt/3blBNwF

If Madewell's Virtual Styling Appointments Are the Future of Online Shopping, Sign Me Up

Image
Online shopping is the preferred method for most. As a culture, we've come to expect convenience, quality, and instant gratification. However, there is something lost with ecommerce. You sacrifice the interaction with shop owners and sales associates and the advice and intimate knowledge they have on the products they sell. There's also the constant issue of fit challenges when ordering online. With stores all over the country shut down, brands have had to quickly adapt and engage with their customers in new ways. We've seen virtual wedding dress fittings and online sample sales , and now virtual styling sessions are beginning to emerge. I recently tried my first one with Madewell and found it struck the perfect balance between online shopping and the in-store experience. Not to mention the pleasure of having lighthearted conversation with someone new, an experience social distancing has made challenging. Even as some states begin plans to reopen stores , shoppers may b

Vanessa Hudgens Bought 1 Turquoise Bikini and Wore It 2 Ways - Voila!

Image
Vanessa Hudgens shared her at-home swimsuit style with followers, tagging the brand of her bikini in her Instagram Stories. I'm sure she figured fans would be curious, since her two-piece is undeniably sexy what with its barely there lucite rings and cheeky bottom. The Heart of Sun Gigi set retails for $144 and comes with a halter top that, as Vanessa later discovered, is pretty darn versatile and can be transformed into a bandeau with some rejiggering of the straps. "Just realized I was wearing my bathing suit top wrong loool," Vanessa wrote when she got inside and looked at herself in the mirror. I wouldn't say either way is necessarily wrong, but in the case of this particular suit, it's cool to see how different it can look with a simple tweak. So, Vanessa bought one bikini but wore it two ways - not a bad way to start off the swim season, huh? Vanessa accessorized her look with a bunch of layered gold necklaces and bracelets, plus a pair of sunglasses a

Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush Bronzer Is the Reason I'm Going to Wear Bronzer Again

Image
One of Charlotte Tilbury's very first launches, the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo, has long been a makeup artist and beauty editor favorite. The only downside? It comes in just two shades - and if you don't want a highlighter, well, you're getting one anyway. This month, however, Tilbury finally introduces a standalone powder bronzer that comes in multiple hues to the range - the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer ($55). After getting to test it out before launch, I can report that it's good . Going into the development process, Tilbury knew everything she didn't want in a powder bronzer: She didn't want it to be shimmery, she didn't want it to settle into fine lines and pores, she didn't want it to streak or look cake-y as you layered it, and she didn't wanted shades that only looked good on fair and tan complexions. "Diversity was key when it came to this launch," she explained. As part of the Airbrush family, the Bronzer c
