The supermodel’s string of sleek ensembles in the City of Lights continued for last night’s Louis Vuitton Parfum dinner during Paris Fashion Week, when she wore a black minidress with sparkling fringe from the brand’s resort ’22 collection. The minidress featured a chainmail bodice with matching strand details at the neckline and sleeves, as well as a large gauzy silk bow. At the hemline and skirt, the same silk was cut into strips and embellished with matching sequins to create statement fringe. The Cannes Film Festival is back. After the pandemic cancelled last year’s edition, actors are making their return to the glamorous red carpet today in the South of France and in person. On Day 1, Marion Cotillard made an appearance for the “Annette” photocall and she set the tone for what we can expect style wise. The actress wore head-to-toe Chanel for her day-time ensemble that gave trendy biker shorts the high-fashion upgrade. The state of the pandemic may be up for discussion, but as far as celebrations go, the return of the “Roaring Twenties” seems to be in full swing — and Chanel is on board. Just in time for the return of in-real-life fashion shows for Paris Couture Week, the French brand presented a haute couture fall-winter 2021-2022 collection that went back to the trends, silhouettes and attitudes of the original Roaring Twenties of the early 20th century. The post-World War I era coincided with the waning of the 1918 influenza global pandemic, shaping a time marked by Champagne-soaked soirees and the glamorous fashion that surrounded it.
