Billie Eilish’s Signature Oversized Style Through the Years

Eilish, 19, lunged into the music scene just a few years ago and has already proven to be the ultimate Gen Z style icon, mixing skate culture, ‘00s goth aesthetics, and oversized silhouettes into one unique look all her own. Ultimately, she threw the so-called it-girl fashion playbook out the window, rocking funky sets and dad sneaks to the top events in Hollywood instead of ultra-femme gowns and overtly sexy dresses. Recently, however, she has surprised her fans by experimenting with ’50 glamour and pinup styles that abide by the philosophy that there are no rules. Source: Fashion

7 Things You Definitely Didn’t Know About the ’90s Fashion From ‘Scream’

Image
It’s been 25 years since “Scream” hit theaters in 1996 and terrified those who just wanted to stay at home and watch a scary movie. No one has been able to eat Jiffy Pop in peace ever since. Now, the slasher film franchise is back with its fifth installment, out January 2022, that sees a new killer donning the Ghostface mask in Woodsboro, Calif. Stars David Arquette, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox are making their return to reprise their original roles. In honor of its 25th anniversary, FN caught up with the “Scream” costume designer  Cynthia Bergstrom to talk everything from the Ghostface killer’s boots to Drew Barrymore’s opening-scene look. Here are 7 things you definitely didn’t know about the ’90s fashion from the film: Drew Barrymore’s opening-scene sweater was from J.Crew. Barrymore played Casey, the high school teen who gets (spoiler alert) brutally murdered in the first 15 minutes of “Scream.” Her look was meant to be cozy and comfortable as she prepared popcorn and was

Manolo Blahnik on the ’70s: A Big Debut, Nonstop Parties in London and the Truth About the Studio 54 Scene

“Everybody says the same thing, that this milestone is quite extraordinary. It seems to me like 50 days or months. I’ve been having such a divine time – bad times, too. In my mind, 50 years is a lie.” Manolo Blahnik  is Zooming in from his Bath, England, home, and the 78-year-old shoe legend is feeling particularly energized after receiving his coronavirus booster shot on this late October day. Off camera and masked up, Blahnik — who’s working alongside eagle-eyed house historian Jamie Prieto — frets about his voice, clearly frustrated about having to talk through a computer screen. The charismatic designer, reluctantly, has spent nearly two years online now — using technology to work with the factory on crafting his collections, since in-person visits haven’t been possible due to “this terrible disease.” “It’s so rewarding to talk to them — they know how I cut, they know how I put the colors [together]. They’re my best people. They’re artisans, and I love them. The factory is the

Saweetie Stares Down Halle Berry in a Catwoman Costume and Heeled Boots on TikTok

Image
Saweetie just paid homage to the 2004 film “Catwoman” on TikTok—along with the film’s titular star—for Halloween. The “Icy Grl” rapper donned a replica of Halle Berry’s original costume for the action film, which was panned upon its release 17 years ago but has gained a strong following on social media this year. Her outfit included a pair of shredded leather pants, as well as a leather  bra top and crossed front straps. Naturally, her look was accessorized with Catwoman’s black cat mask and elbow-length gloves. @officialsaweetie had to put on for the best Catwoman to ever do it #halleberry #saweetaween #catwoman ♬ original sound – SAWEETIE When it came to shoes, Saweetie elevated her costume with a pair of heeled boots. Her footwear featured rounded toes, ridged soles and black uppers. They also appeared to include heels totaling at least 4 inches in height, adding an edgy boost to her ensemble. The humorous video shows Saweetie reciting a “Catwoman” monologue on a roo

Manolo Blahnik On the Inspiration Behind His New 50th Anniversary Gold Collection

Image
As one of the most prolific shoe designers of all time, it’s safe to say that everything Manolo Blahnik creates turns to gold. Just take a look at his bestselling styles, such as the Campari, or the something-blue Hangisi for further proof. For his 50th anniversary, Blahnik took the turn of phrase quite literally, creating a capsule collection to celebrate his golden year using — what else? — gold as its theme. But there’s more to Blahnik’s gilded creations than just a sprinkle of glitter here or a metallic flash there. For a series of bell-accented boots and heels, the designer looked back to childhood memories of his mother’s jewelry collection for sentimental inspiration. “That shoe is very very affectionate to me, because I remember my mother used to have a huge [charm bracelet], she designed herself, so huge, with big charms, like an industrial kind to make the boats comes to port!” Blahnik told FN during an exclusive interview over Zoom from his home in Bath, England. “So hea
