This Colorful Met Gala Gown Is Being Auctioned Off to Support Doctors Without Borders

Designers and brands are continuously coming up with ways to help support doctors and people in need due to the coronavirus pandemic. The latest retailer to join in and help is Mango. According to a press release, brand ambassador "Sofia Sanchez de Betak has organized a charitable campaign to support Doctors Without Borders in its fight against the COVID-19 global pandemic and other humanitarian missions that have been exacerbated due to the expansion of the virus."

Through her brand Chufy, Sophia is organizing an auction on April 15, where she will be selling the original Mango dress she wore during the 2019 Met Gala. Mango designed the exclusive dress "which reflected the extravagant concept the occasion required, while celebrating Mango's identity as a brand." The gala, which normally takes place on the first Monday of May, has been postponed indefinitely this year due to the pandemic.

In addition to the colorful Met Gala gown being donated by Mango, other close friends and partners of Sofia Sanchez de Betak - including André Saraiva, Leandra Medine, Ezra Petronio and Andrés Velencoso - have contributed limited edition designs, which will also be auctioned. The auction will close on April 19, and all proceeds from the auction will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.
