Rebel Wilson Wows in a Ruched Dress & Peek-a-Boo Mesh Pumps for a Good Cause
Rebel Wilson traded her beachwear and workout gear for a more formal look — and for a good cause.
The “Isn’t It Romantic” star helped raised funds for The School Of St Jude in Tanzania yesterday and threw on her best evening wear for the event. Wilson modeled a draped-front navy knee-length dress from Alex Evenings, completed with a subtle V-neck drop and three-quarter length sleeves; similar designs retail for $219 at Nordstrom.com.
When it came down to footwear, the Australian native added a touch of boldness with her choice of black pumps. The pointed-toe pair featured a rounded vamp and a trending mesh laser-cut design.
Mesh pumps grew in popularity in 2019 with the rise of Bottega Veneta’s Stretch pumps. Offered now in a mix of silhouettes, the fishnet-style heels were always quick to sell out; they were spotted across both celebrity style and street style stars on social media and at fashion weeks. The design inspired brands to incorporate more mesh detailing in their own shoes, as seen by Rebel Wilson’s cutout pair.
Wilson has spent her quarantine working on her fitness and showing off her physique and training routines on social media for her 8.2 million followers to see. Her go-to workout sneakers come from Nike and Adidas in a mix of shades and silhouettes. When it comes to apparel both on and off the gym floor, the “Isn’t It Romantic” star favors designs from Emilio Pucci, Givenchy and more high fashion labels. Most recently, for a friend’s wedding, Wilson opted for a bright yellow dress from Wayne Cooper, boasting a cinched belted waist with ruffled sleeves and a deep-cut neckline.
