Jill Biden kicked off a back-to-school tour through 10 major cities with a stop yesterday at Evan G. Shortlidge Academy in Wilmington, Del.

The former educator visited classrooms and learned about the school’s plan for virtual learning for the upcoming semester before speaking to staff outdoors on the school grounds. Jill, the wife of former Vice President and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden, dressed up for the occasion in a blue layered three-piece set, teaming a blazer over a high-neck blouse and a knee-length pencil skirt. She accented the outfit with her signature pearl jewelry.

When it came down to footwear, Dr. Jill Biden made a sensible choice in preparation for the outdoor setting. She opted for a pair of wedge heels over a stiletto pump, keeping stable on the soft grass without ruining her shoes. The black pair featured a rounded toe with suede uppers and a tiger-stripe gray and black wedge heel.

As for Dr. Jill Biden, her style extends beyond just business-casual sets and sensible heels. When it comes to shoes, the teacher is a fan of slingback silhouettes, which are known for their ease of wear thanks to straps around the bank of the ankle. Her go-to brands include Dior and Givenchy. She also is known for her love of running and in the past has preferred workout-ready footwear from running brand On.

Most recently, on the closing night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention on Aug. 20, the former second lady chose yet another major designer for her dress of the evening: Christian Siriano. The purple cinched design came balanced with soft suede pumps in a pointed-toe, gray silhouette.
