J-Lo Models Bold Outerwear With Alex Rodriguez to Unveil Saks Holiday Windows

Jennifer Lopez joined her fiancé Alex Rodriguez to help Saks Fifth Avenue welcome in the holiday season in a very 2020 way.

Known for its show-stopping Christmas and holiday light show at its flagship New York location, Saks reimagined its celebration this year with a concept titled Saks Lights Up Fifth Avenue. Saks president and CEO Marc Metrick joined former Yankees pro A-Rod to help kick things off with an intimate, socially-distanced event that can be viewed online across the globe via live stream at Saks.com.

Lopez came along for the event to help support her fiancé and opted for a chic cold-weather ensemble for the occasion. Her outfit popped thanks to an ankle-length purple trench coat layered over a chunky knit sweater and hidden bottoms.

Accessorizing with a coordinating purple bag, the “On the Floor” singer topped off the seasonal ensemble with fall-ready boots. The mixed material pair featured contrasting suede and leather paneling atop a lifted pointed-toe silhouette.

The Saks Lights Up Fifth Avenue events will continue throughout the holiday season with new appearances from recognizable New York figures. The retailer will also be donating $100,000 in total to a mix of charitable causes as selected by the guest — last night’s event saw a donation to the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club.

“There is nothing better than spending the holiday season in New York City with my family. The lights, the tree at Rockefeller Center and the festive spirit is something we look forward to every year. It truly is the greatest city in the world,” said Rodriguez in a release. “To me, this season is about giving back and thinking of others rather than ourselves. A lot of amazing things can be done when people come together and pay it forward.”
