Miley Cyrus’ Birthday Suit Includes a Fire Red Sweater, Fishnets & $2,195 Studded Boots

Miley Cyrus celebrated her birthday in the best way she knew how: with a surprise drag show paying homage to a few of her most memorable performances.

Joined by Moschino designer Jeremy Scott and members of the House of Avalon, the “Midnight Sky” singer rang in her 28th birthday in bold style yesterday; her ensemble for the day included a red cashmere silk fur sweater from Lapointe’s fall ’20 collection. Though the design isn’t currently available, similar pieces retail for over $1,900 at Moda Operandi.

To top things off, Cyrus added in a set of bright red sunglasses, her beloved fishnet tights and studded black boots.

The knee-high design comes from Isabel Marant’s fall ’20 collection and features both suede and leather uppers adorned with silver embellishments. Set atop a 4.4-inch tapered cone heel, the Lyork boots from the brand retail for $2,195 at MatchesFashion.com.

One of the performers, Rubber Child, explained on Instagram that the event too was about more than just celebrating Cyrus’ birthday.

“All day today we are celebrating, and also raising money for Fair Fight,” explained the post on Instagram yesterday. “Hundreds of thousands of voters were affected by poor election management and systematic voter suppression, crippling Georgia’s democracy.”

While Miley Cyrus herself is best known for her hit albums and box office films, she also dips her toes in the fashion and shoe space. The “Last Song” star made an appearance on the runway at the Marc Jacobs’ fall ’20 show and has also sat front row at shows for top labels such as Tom Ford and Saint Laurent. She also has worked with Converse on a series of pride-filled shoe collections.

The Converse collaborator has been vegan for years, and she oftentimes embraces wardrobe pieces that are cruelty-free. In fact, at last year’s Met Gala she teamed a Saint Laurent minidress with a custom vegan leather version of the brand’s Paige platform sandals. Her other go-to designers for fashion and apparel include Versace, Alexandre Vauthier and Azalea Wang amongst others.
