Ellen DeGeneres Styled Retro Nikes With a Monochromatic Look
During a post-Christmas excursion, Ellen DeGeneres was spotted riding an electric bicycle in a pair of retro Nike sneakers in Santa Barbara, Calif., Sunday.
Going for a monochromatic look, the daytime talk show host and comedian styled a simple navy crewneck sweatshirt with some matching trousers and what appears to be Nike’s Daybreak SP silhouette in the White University Red colorway, which released June 2019.
This edition features a nylon upper with suede overlays and blue Nike Swoosh details on the tongue tab. Underfoot, a foam midsole offers lightweight cushioning while the signature rubber waffle outsole delivers ideal traction and durability.
Last year, Nike teamed up with Japanese streetwear label Undercover on a buzzy collab that included three new bold remixed versions of the Daybreak, which originally launched as a runner in 1979.
The 62-year-old, who contracted COVID-19 earlier this month and was forced to shut down her show until 2021, also sported a blue bandana as a mask. After it was revealed she tested positive for the deadly virus on the 10th, in less than a week, DeGeneres shared a video with her 79.4 million Twitter followers to give an update on her condition. Fortunately, the host shared with fans that she was “feeling 100 percent” and “really good.”
