Cardi B Shows Off Her Baby Bump in a Peek-a-Boo Dress & a Headpiece That Pays Homage to Her Heritage
Cardi B’s second pregnancy has the rapper glowing in bold fashion — and we wouldn’t expect anything less.
Last night, the “Bodak Yellow” musician unveiled more images from her pregnancy announcement photoshoot on Instagram; she is currently expecting her second child with fellow musician Offset of rap trio Migos.
In the picture shared last night, Cardi b posed alongside her first-born daughter Kulture, 2, in coordinating attire. Both mother and daughter’s ensembles featured white flowing dresses with dramatic gold jewelry and symbolic headpieces. The rapper explained on her Instagram Stories that the choice of attire is a nod to Afro-Caribbean culture and heritage; though she was raised in New York, Cardi B herself was born to a Dominican father and a Trinidadian mother.
“I just know these two will love each other soo much and argue soo much since they’re 3 years apart…just like me and Henny,” wrote Cardi B in her caption. “But one thing for sure is they’ll have each other’s back like no one else ever will.”
Cardi B kept the truth of her second pregnancy under wraps for weeks, finally announcing the happy news over this past weekend. The announcement came perfectly timed before her BET Awards performance on Sunday in which she modeled a sheer peek-a-boo Dolce & Gabbana catsuit to fully highlight her growing baby bump.
Deemed the Style Influencer of the Year for the 2020 FN Achievement Awards, Cardi B herself is also a master of both luxurious apparel and athleisure fashion. She joined Balenciaga as the face of its fall ’20 campaign in September, with ads displayed across the Louvre in Paris. When it comes to her everyday looks, you can find Cardi B in everything from Mugler catsuits to glittering Balmain skirts and her favorite Jessica Rich heels.
The “Hustlers” star also continues to hold the ultimate hook-up for sportswear since partnering with Reebok in November 2018; together, Cardi B has helped the brand released a series of collections as she starred in a variety of campaigns and videos featuring embellished sneakers and vintage-inspired pieces before creating her own collections of footwear and apparel.
The Grammy Award-winning artist too filed paperwork last year with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in September in an attempt to trademark the term “WAP” for a variety of items from footwear to apparel to even alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
