A Look at Justin Bieber’s Fashion Evolution, From Supra Sneakers to Drew House

From his shaggy-hair days to his Calvin Klein underwear ads, Justin Bieber has grown up right before the world’s eyes. And as he continues to evolve, so does his sense of style.

Taking it back to 2009, when he released his first single, “One Time,” Bieber was heavily into wearing Supra sneakers. The  singer continued to wear Supra for many events during his early years, and his go-to style was high-top sneakers. Bieber would occasionally mix up his looks wearing Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Adidas and Del Toro at the time.

Later in his career, it’s no secret that Vans became a staple in Bieber’s shoe closet. During his 2015 promo tour for his album “Purpose,” Bieber continually chose Vans as his go-to sneaker style. He was seen performing on the “Today” show in Vans, on the American Music Awards red carpet and out and about in Los Angeles, for instance. Bieber was also performed at the 2016 Brit Awards in classic white Vans slip-ons.

Then came the release of Kanye West’s coveted Yeezy Boosts in 2015, which Bieber couldn’t stop wearing. He’s been spotted in all colorways, including black, which he performed in during the 2015 MTV VMAs. Bieber has also worn the first release of the Adidas Yeezy 750 Boosts on many occasions.

Then for his 2016 “Purpose” tour, Bieber kept his onstage shoe style within the Adidas family and continully wore Adidas Ultra Boost sneakers in white for his performances. At the time, Traci Morlan, Adidas’ global director of entertainment and influencer marketing, told FN, “When Justin Bieber partnered with us to launch our Neo label in 2013, he brought a new level of followers to the Neo social channels. Today, we see Justin’s style evolving.” Morlan added, “He is becoming a style icon. Whether he posts an onstage pic in the Adidas Ultra Boost or a pic of him playing ‘Pokemon Go’ in his white Adidas Originals NMDs, he has an enormous influence on his followers, which enhances the demand and coveted reputation of both these models.”

Since then, Bieber’s influence on fashion and style has since continued. He is currently a brand ambassador for Balenciaga, for example.

In 2019, he launched his clothing line Drew, which is inspired by his middle name and manufactured in Los Angeles. His friend Ryan Good is the the creative director and co-founder of the unisex line that features oversized, relaxed-fit pieces. Bieber and his label Drew collaborated with Crocs in 2021 and again this year on clog style, which proved to be a success. The first partnership launching in October 2020 sold out immediately, with resellers marking up the yellow clogs more than 20% than its original sale price of $60 at the time.

Instead of a classic dress shoe or brogue, Bieber instead broke out one of his go-to brand for casual footwear: Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. It’s not the first time he has worn Nike either. As of late, Bieber’s go-to kicks have been the Nike Dunk Low, which took home FN’s 2020 Shoe of the Year Award.
