How Does Virtual Dermatology Work? I Tried the Skin-Care App Curology to Find Out

Image
In the age of Amazon and Instacart, there's not much we can't get at the click of a button - or while stuck inside our homes. From clothes to makeup to home decor, "I want it, I got it" is more or less our motto in 2020. But when things get medical - from primary care to dermatology and beyond - you enter a major grey area. As life becomes increasingly more digital (especially in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak ), it's no surprise that online healthcare offerings are expanding. There's Capsule, essentially the Uber of pharmacies, and Care/Of , personalized vitamin plans in aesthetically pleasing packaging. Even your primary provider is embracing the shift with digital test results, online message portals, and various forms of telemedicine. But the big question remains: how much can be done without actually seeing a patient in person? On the beauty front, dermatology might be one of the only professional services we can access online. Unlike a trip to th

Rejoice! Kim Kardashian Introduces Us to Skims Ribbed Matching Sets

Image
Kim Kardashian just announced the introduction of her Skims Stretch Rib collection, which goes live on the site Tuesday April 21 at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET. I don't know about you, but little ribbed or knit matching sets are all I've been searching for lately given that they make the perfect WFH outfit, perhaps covered with a longline robe or some fuzzy socks. Just in the nick of time, Kim has gifted us a beautiful option from Skims. Whether you choose the sportier halter neckline or the crewneck bra, the high-waist brief, supportive high-rise thong, or booty shorts, you can mix and match to create your own signature combination. The Skims pieces come in Soot, Bone, and Slate Green - quite similar to her husband's new Yeezy slides color palate, eh? It's almost like all you need to do is add a pair of socks and you've got your own Kardashian-West branded outfit from head to toe. Known for its wide array of sizes, Skims is offering this particular range in XXS thro

Dua Lipa Got a Little Help From Anwar Hadid For Her Latest Beauty "Experiment": Pink Hair

Image
Image Source: Getty / Axelle / Bauer-Griffin / FilmMagic Dua Lipa's nostalgic chunky highlights are no more. The singer just revealed that she has dyed the top (previously blond) layer of her hair pink as part of what she described as her "experiment" for the week. Lipa shared dreamy selfies of her cotton-candy hair color in an Instagram gallery also spliced with memes and video-game screenshots. One mirror selfie also shows that her boyfriend , Anwar Hadid, lent a hand with the at-home dyeing process. The change comes not long after Lipa clarified that her new baby bangs were done out of necessity due to bleach damage. "PSA: this is not a haircut," she wrote at the time. "It's bleached breakages but im runnin w it." The bangs are kind of a vibe though, especially now that they're dyed pink, and we're inclined to quote Bob Ross and say, "There are no mistakes, only happy accidents." View this post on Inst

Image
Image Source: Getty / Iryna Veklich When it comes to active ingredients that really improve your skin, there are few more effective than retinol and vitamin C . Unfortunately, these power players don't tend to play that nicely together. Retinol, a vitamin A derivative, turbo charges skin cell turnover to minimize the appearance of fine lines, pores, pigmentation, and more. It works hard and fast to reduce breakouts and knock years off your complexion. Vitamin C, on the other hand, is a potent antioxidant that protects and repairs skin cells whilst simultaneously tackling fine lines, brightening dark spots, and leaving skin glowing. Both sound good, right? Trouble is you that you can, in fact, have too much of a good thing, as overdoing it on retinol and vitamin C can lead to redness and sensitivity. Luckily, you don't have to choose one over the other. You do, however, need to be strategic with your application. We called on skincare experts to reveal exactly what each i

Back to Basics: The Only Pieces I Want to Wear Right Now

Image
Over the past few weeks I've tried to stay busy and productive. I've filled free time with small projects like organizing my closet , reading new books , even baking ! I've noticed that the things that bring me the most joy are quite simple, and the way I dress is no exception. I've come to appreciate the necessity for great basics that focus on fit, style, and wearability over trend. I'm wearing a fraction of my wardrobe right now, rotating a select few sweatshirts , oversized button-downs, easy straight leg denim , cardigans, ribbed tanks, and white tee shirts. Editing down your wardrobe is actually very freeing because you feel confident in the pieces you own and love. This month has been a lesson in conscious consumption. I want fewer pieces, better quality, and I'm quickly realizing that basics are anything but boring. Source: https://ift.tt/3bgIktn
