Tracee Ellis Ross Makes Athleisure Glam in Biker Shorts, Crop Top & the Smallest Purse You’ll See Today

Tracee Ellis Ross gave athletic style a glam twist as she posed in pieces from Saint Laurent’s newest collection.

The “High Note” actress lounged back on Instagram yesterday in a new all-black look courtesy of the French brand, modeling a short-sleeve crop top with coordinating spandex biker shorts. To complete the monochromatic attire, Ellis Ross added in a flat-brim hat and the smallest of crossbody bags complete with a miniature YSL gold emblem.

Saint Laurent debuted its spring ’21 collection this week with a little help from a mix of stars across all industries. Hailey Baldwin, for example, made an appearance in her twist on glam biker shorts, matching Lily Collins in silver-capped slingback heels and sleek shorts.

As led by creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, the YSL collection proved to be a marriage between the best of trends from both the 1960s and reversely the 1990s. Titled, “I wish you were here,” the womenswear line for spring ’21 followed the path of many brands amidst the current climate with a virtual presentation. Instead of its typical Paris setting, models appeared across sand dunes in a desert mirage in dedication to the freedom of movement.

As for Tracee Ellis Ross, throughout her time in quarantine, the “Girlfriends” star has used social media as an outlet to connect with her fans about her “Black-Ish” series and about everyday life. And even as lockdown measures have eased, the star has continued to give glimpses into behind-the-scenes style moments from her TV series, as well as real-time looks at her home life and workouts in Asics sneakers.

As a modern style figure, her closet isn’t lacking in designer labels. Some of the luxe brands in her collection include Christopher John Rogers, Loewe and Christian Louboutin. She also has starred in campaigns for Kenzo’s spring ’17 collection alongside Jessie Williams of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
