Vanessa Hudgens Gives Festive Style a Daring Twist in a Santa Clause Chemise & Leather Boots

Vanessa Hudgens spread the holiday spirit this week in a way only the access could pull off.

Taking to Instagram, the “Beastly” star joined a few of her friends to recreate the “Jingle Bell Rock” scene from the 2004 hit film “Mean Girls” yesterday. The group donned matching Santa Claus-inspired sheer chemise dresses complete with faux fur trims and a gold-buckled belt topped with coordinating hats to tout.

Hudgens then took her bold number to the next level with her choice of lace-up leather boots that hit just over the knee.

Combat boots and lace-up styles are the new norm amongst celebrity style trends, experiencing a revitalization along with a dew other silhouettes from the 1990s. From brands like Prada along with Bottega Veneta and Dr. Martens, these lug-sole boots offer ease of wear with a grungy-chic appeal. This season, you’ll spot utilitarian boots on the likes of Gigi Hadid, J-Lo, Gwen Stefani and more major stars.

From combat boots to platform styles, Hudgens’ own seasonal style includes a mix of closed-toe silhouettes. Earlier in the month, the “High School Musical” alumna even slipped on a pair of authentic cowboy boots to unexpectedly top of her cozy New York hoodie and coordinating gray sweatpants.

Western boots themselves experienced a revival amongst celebrity style trends in 2018, continuing into 2019 and 2020 with their classic appeal and retro touch. From pointed-toe versions to square-toe silhouette, twists on cowgirl boots could be found on the likes of Gigi Hadid, Gwen Stefani and Hailey Baldwin with brands including Givenchy, Off-White, Anny Nord and more featuring the designs on their runways.

As for Hudgens’ everyday style, the “Princess Switch” star‘s taste can be described as boho-chic. She was dubbed the “Queen of Coachella” back in 2018. Her closet includes many flowing silhouettes, ruffled designs, floral numbers and tie-dye accents that give off a ’70s-inspired feel. Her go-to brands for dressed-up ensembles and footwear range from Alexander Wang to Balenciaga and Gucci.

When it comes to her off-duty looks, you can find the actress in pieces from Ugg, Naked Wolfe Dr. Marten’s and Frye — though she still mixes in glam pieces from the likes of Jimmy Choo and Gianvito Rossi. Her new go-to everyday style also features picks from Gymshark, Adidas and more athletically-centered brands as she follows the growing celebrity trend of athleisure amidst stay-at-home style.
