What Was This Year’s Theme?
This year, the dress code is “American Independence” as the Costume Institute’s exhibition showcases a timeline of national fashion history, appropriately titled: “Part One — In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” The exhibition is the first of a two-part series that will open on Sept. 18, 2021, and will remain on display when “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” opens on May 5, 2022. Both shows will run through Sept. 5, 2022.
Who Is Making Appearances?
The intimate celebration will include an address from Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The co-chairs for this year’s event are Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman and Naomi Osaka.
